The Staff Selection Commission Multi-Tasking Staff (SSC MTS) is a national-level exam conducted to recruit candidates for various non-technical posts in government ministries, departments, and offices. It is an excellent entry-level job requiring only Class 10 qualification.

Job Profile & Responsibilities

Contrary to common misconceptions, MTS roles are highly professional and administrative in nature:

  • Physical maintenance of records of the Section.
  • General cleanliness and upkeep of the Section.
  • Carrying of files & other papers within the building.
  • Photocopying, sending of FAX, etc.
  • Assisting in routine office work like diary dispatch, computer data entry, etc.

Salary & Allowances

MTS is a General Central Service Group 'C' Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post.

  • Pay Scale: Pay Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Rs. 18,000 basic pay).
  • Gross Monthly Salary: Rs. 28,000 - 32,000 depending on the posting city (Class X, Y, or Z).
